Project Description

The OSU Extension Project, Learning About Food in Urban Communities is a publication outlining an educational plan for the food district at Weinland Park in Columbus, Ohio. Phoenix Graphix designed, from start to finish, a useful, appealing, information-disseminating book for community members as well as professional educators. The design included cover layout, page layout, chart design, fonts, colors, images (some existing and manipulated / some new) and copy. PG designers went on location with a local Ohio photographer to shoot current images. Manuscript was supplied and edited where needed. Because this was an Ohio project, Phoenix Graphix brokered the printing with an Ohio provider. Client remarks: “Thanks for the nice photos throughout the publication.” “THANK YOU!!!! :-)” -Julie “We also distributed at the local foods in-service yesterday, and people were wowed by the book!” -Mike
